Background Hemorrhagic shock (HS) is closely associated with intestinal barrier dysfunction and is the leading cause of gut-derived SIRS,MODS and other complications.Studies have shown that Intraperitoneal resuscitation (IR) is able to protect intestinal mucosa barrier function, but the specific mechanism unclear. Methods 48 Sprague Dawley rats were randomly divided into four groups.1.sham group.2.HS group:using Wiggers modified method.3.HS+SIR group:intraperitoneal injection with 30mL saline.4 HS + PIR group:30mL 2.50% PD-2 solution. These were observed that plasma DAO,D-LA,endotoxin content, occludin mRNA and protein expression. Results Intestinal mucosa occludin mRNA and protein levels in the HS + SIR and HS + PIR groups were significantly higher than HS group Intestinal mucosa and subcellular morphology damage in the the HS +PIR group were not as severe as HS and HS + SIR groups. Conclusion IR protects the intestinal barrier function against damage by maintainjng a high expression of intesfinal mucosa occludin in the HS rat and may help reduce HS-induced SIRS,and MODS,and ultimately reduce HS mortality.
