  多巴胺(Dopamine,DA)和5-羟色胺(5-Hydroxytryptamine,5-HT)是生物系统中重要的单胺类神经递质.DA广泛分布在脑组织中,用于在哺乳动物中枢神经系统的信息传输,负责大脑的情欲、感觉,传递兴奋信息,也和上瘾有关.DA的缺乏可导致某些神经系统疾病,例如精神分裂症和帕金森氏疾病.5-羟色胺也分布在脑中,参与心血管活动调节、觉醒睡眠周期调节、痛觉调制、精神情感活动和下丘脑垂体的神经内分泌活动的调节.DA和5-HT共存于一个生物系统中,因而同时测定两者是至关重要的.要在活体中准确的测定DA和5-HT是非常困难的,一方面:干扰物质抗坏血酸(AA)具有较高的浓度;另一方面:在裸电极上DA和5-HT的反应电位非常接近,从而获得一个交叠的循环伏安响应,无法判别引起电流响应的神经递质类别.
