Gas-bearing sediments have often been found in estuaries, deltas, lakes and the seabed of offshore. They are different from common saturated or unsaturated soil, and usually the gas is enclosed among soil particles in form of free gas bubbles. With a developed equipment, the triaxial gassy sand samples with homogeneous bubbles and different initial gas content(saturation ≥80%)were prepared to carry out a series of undrained dynamic triaxial tests by the GDS dynamic triaxial system. Therefore, the dynamic elastic modulus and damping ratio of gas-bearing sediments were studies, and effects of gas content and cyclic stress levels on dynamic elastic modulus and damping ratio of the soil were explored. Results show that gas content has a significant effect on the dynamic elastic modulus of sediment soil rather than the damping ratio. And the more gas contents, the larger the dynamic elastic modulus under the condition of the same strain amplitude, the slower attenuation with the increase of soil strain. The dynamic elastic modulus of gassy sand with different initial saturation decreases with the increasing cyclic stress level, but the trend of damping ratio is opposite and tends to a stable value.
