A good understanding of the work hardening and strain-rate hardening behaviour of 6xxx alloys is important for the stretch forming of such Al-Mg-Si alloys. In this study, four 6xxx alloys with different Mg and Si contents were studied. The as-quenched alloy sheets were either naturally aged or artificially aged at 100℃ or 200℃.The work hardening and strain-rate hardening behaviour of the different alloys, aged in each condition, with similar yield strength, were analysed. The results showed that, with despite their yield strength being similar, the alloys behaved differently in terms of work hardening and strain-rate hardening.
