Polarized membrane addition is crucial for axon development and elongation during neuronal morphogenesis.This process is believed to be regulated by directed membrane trafficking of plasmalemmal precursor vesicles (PPVs).We have shown recently that Rab10 promotes axon development by enhancing membrane insertion of PPVs.Like other vesicles,PPVs should also experience following steps:biogenesis,trafficking,docking and fusion with the acceptor membrane.
