  Remediation of soil contaminated by heavy metals is a complex process.Appropriate ways should be used in different contamination soils.In order to safely use cropland and provide a scientific basis for remediation the contaminated soil,the vertical contents of six heavy metals(Cd,Pb,Cr,Cu,Zn and Ni)were detected,which were collected in the depth of 0-100 cm soil at the downwind direction of smelter beside Xiangjiang River.
