Cycloisomerization of 1,6-Enynes Catalyzed by Gold Nanoparticles from the First Principles: Mechanis

  Very recently,gold nanoparticles supported on TiO2(1.2 mol%)were found to catalyze the cycloisomerization of a series of 1,6-enynes in high yields in 1,2-dichloroethane(DCE).1,2 To our knowledge,there is no detailed reaction mechanism available in the literature,especially for the chemo-selectivity of such reactions.Our comprehensive investigations on 1,6-enyne cycloisomerization catalyzed by Au38 clusters demonstrated that the single cleavage pathway is preferred on gold clusters.While the preferred mechanism for the 1,6-enyne cycloisomerization catalyzed by glod(I)complexes is the double cleavage pathway.The positive charge has largely effect on the energy barriers of the second step.The DCE solvent has slightly effect on the first step,while it could effectively reduce the energy barriers of the second step.
