Transit oriented development(TOD)is a strategy widely used to achieve the sustainable development of transportation-land-use integration at metro station areas,clearly not all implementations of TOD are the same in every station area.This study adopts node-place model as an analytical framework to identify and classify the TOD around 118 metro stations in Shenzhen.All stations have a special relative position according to its node and place scores in hierarchy of urban region.Factor analysis and cluster analysis are applied to identify five distinct station area types.
