In the present anti-H5N1 experiments,a very interesting phenomenon attracted us,(+)-gossypol showed comparable activity with(-)-gossypol.This prompted us to carry out further comprehensive comparisons of the anti-H5N1 activity of chiral gossypol derivatives and its analogs.To better understand the anti-H5N1activity of (+)/(-)-Gossypolic acid,(+)/(-)-Gossypolic acid were synthesized(see Scheme 1),and their anti-H5Nl activity was also tested.
