Nutrient amino acid transporters(NATs) belonging to Solute Carrier 6(SLC6)play a major rolein accumulation and redistribution for essential amino acids and their derivatives in heterotrophs.Here we characterized the physiological functionin aputative LdNAT gene by RNAi.The full cDNA length of LdNATwas 2216bp and had an open reading frame of 1923 bp that encoded a 640-amino acidprotein.Efficient silencing of the NAT genethrough double-stranded RNA (dsRNA) ingestion led to rapid and significant reduction LdNAT mRNA level, disturbedlarval developmentand negatively affected larval survival.These findings suggested that dietary introduction of LdNAT dsRNA couldbe developed as a potential controlmethod for L.decemlineata larvae.
