Screening and characterization of antagonistic endophytic bacteria associated with nodules of soybea

  A total of 276 endophytic bacteria isolated from root nodules of soybean (Glycine max L.) in the field of forthteen sites subordinated to nine districts of Henan province in China, were determined for inhibitory activity against pathogenic fungus Fusarium graminearum 01 by initial and secondary screening in vitro.Among these strains, six strains with more than 63% inhibitory activity were characterized by optical epifluorescence microscopic observation, sequencing and phylogenetic analysis of 16S rRNA gene, potential plant growth-promoting traits analysis, plant inoculation assay and correspondence analysis.Results indicated that strain DD161 had the strongest inhibitory activity (71.14%) against the mycelial growth of F.graminearum 01, the mycelia of pathogenic fungus underwent morphological abnormal changes under the effect of endophytic bacteria, such as fracture, lysis, hyphae end became protoplast concentration and formed a ball, or became split ends.
