This paper deals with the stability and nonlinear time transient response of a class of turbochargers used in large diesel engines such as locomotives and marine engines.This particular class of turbocharger uses the floating bush design.This design is very common for use in the smaller sized turbochargers such as encountered in automotive engines.These smaller turbochargers may exceed speeds of over 100,000 rpm.
