  Lipids are key regulators of brain function and have been implicated in various neurodegenerative diseases, such as human Parkinsons disease (PD) and Alzheimers disease (AD).Information pertaining to this field remains sporadic and is mainly restricted to a few specific lipid families.Technological advancement in mass spectrometry has allowed sensitive and highly selective analysis of lipids with diverse chemical compositions in complex mixtures.Comprehensive dataset of a few hundreds of tissue lipids including glycerophospholipids (PC, LPC, PE, LPE, PI, LPI, PS, LPS, PG, LPG, PA), sphingolipids (Cer, SM, GluCer, Gal-Cer, GM3 ganglioside, sphingosine, Sph-1-P), glycerolipids (TAG, DAG), cholesterol and various cholesterol esters will be constructed using state-of-the-art mass spectrometry techniques.
