作为造山带变质岩是否经历过超高压变质作用的重要指示矿物,柯石英的识别及其保留机制一直是超高压变质作用的热点研究课题之一.柯石英主要以包裹体形式发育在造岩矿物或耐熔性矿物如锆石中.野外不同尺度详细填图表明,仰口含粒间柯石英榴辉岩在构造上表现为无根等斜褶皱转折端并包裹在富石英片岩内,而位于无根褶皱转折端的含柯石英榴辉岩不含任何多硅白云母。形成一个保护空间并营造一个相对"干"的环境,抑制折返过程中剪切变形叠加和流体浸润,从而使得粒间柯石英得以保留。
