Fe/Mn binary oxide represents a promising adsorbent for elimination of arsenic from aqueous solution, as it combines the high affinity of iron oxide to arsenic anion with the oxidation property of MnO2 to arsenite. However, the formation of fine and/or superfine particles in aqueous solution makes it of particular difficulty to separate adsorbent material from water, which may potentially limit its effective applications.
