Polymer dispersed liquid crystals (PDLCs) are composed by micro-sized liquid crystal (LC) domains dispersed in a continuous polymer matrix.Due to their excellent electro-optical (EO) properties,PDLCs are extremely useful for application in various fields,such as flexible displays,switchable windows,electro-optic shutters and switchable gratings.In this talk,we will report some of our recent progresses on PDLCs prepared by reversible additional fragmental chain transfer (RAFT) polymerization.The related effects in morphology,polymerization kinetics and molecular weight of polymer matrix are also discussed.
