Bamboo(P.pubescens)was fractionated using three-step integrated procedures:(1)autohydrolysis pretreatment for hemicelluloses into xylooligosaccharide(XOS),(2)delignification with acetic and formic acid mixtures to obtain lignin,(3)extended delignification with alkaline peroxide to obtain purified pulp for producing microcrystalline cellulose(MCC).

Hot compressed steam was employed as environmental friendly media for degradation of cellulose into furan derivatives(5-hydroxymethylfurfural and furfural)under the temperature of 250-330℃ and pressur
Pretreatment is an essential step in biorefineries to disrupt the recalcitrance of lignocellulosic matrix for enzymatic saccharification and bioethanol production.
Effective pretreatment is the key to achieve high enzymatic hydrolysis efficiency in processing lignocellulosic biomass to fermentable sugars, biofuels and value-added products.
This study focused on the effects of seven salts,NH4Cl,NaCl,KCl,FeCl2,MgCl2,CaCl2 and FeCl3,on the pretreatment of eucalypt residues for hemicelluloses degradation and enzymatic hydrolysis. In the resu
Liquid hot water(LHW)pretreatment was applied to enhance the enzymatic digestibility of sugarcane bagasse(SB).The 72-h digestibility was only 15.7%for the untreated SB,increasing to 77.9%for the sampl
