Goat production is regarded as a rural asset in the communities of the Philippines,as 99％ of the countrys total goat population is located in these areas.As these stocks belong to poor farmers,most of the stocks they raise are Philippine Native goat,characterized by poor carcass quality;hence market price is not favorable.
