The biodegradation of sinapic acid, one of the most representative phenolic pollutants presented in industrial wastewater and in natural ecosystem, was first studied using an endophytic fungus,Phomopsis liquidambari. This strain can use sinapic acid as its sole carbon source for growth, and the presence of a small amount of glucose did not significantly impact its degradation rate.
