Background Minimally Invasive Percutaneous Plate Osteosynthesis (MIPPO) tech nique through the lateral approach has been successfully used in the treatment of humeral shaft fractures and gained satisfactory clinical outcomes.Methods An anatomical study and a prelimi nary clinic report were performed to evaluate the feasibility of applying MIPPO technique in the treatment of the humeral shaft distal fractures through two different approaches: the anterior ap proach and the lateral approach.
