Background: CTS, from chitin, found in the outer shell of some insects, crabs, shrimps, lobsters and in the internal structures of other invertebrates, was a linear biological macromolecule polysaccharide, with 7KD-1000KD in molecular weight, composed of (β-1-4) linked units of the amino sugar N-acetyl-glucosamine, and 2-deoxyl-D-glucose.It was an acidic polysaccharide soluble in water after ultrasonic process.CTS was with the ability to regulate innate and adaptive immune responses.
