　　An advanced technology was developed to synthesis ZnO nano-particles using ZnSO4 containing Mn and Mg impurities as the raw material and Na2CO3 as the precipitation agent.Mn2+ was removed from the ZnSO4 solution by oxidation with Na2S2O8 and converted to MnO2 precipitate.Zn5(CO3)2(OH)6 precursor containing no Mg impurity formed by mixing the Mg-bearing ZnSO4 with Na2CO3 in the pH range of 7.5-8.0.ZnO with a purity of higher than 99 % and diameter of 60-80 nm formed after sintering the precursor at 500℃ for 2 h.
