It is well known that achieving near-normal glycemic control in diabetic patients is one of the goals of treatment and associated with decreased rotes of cardiovascular complications.The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of soybean and isoflavone-rich black bean on glycemic control in an animal model of type 2 diabetes.Materials and Methods Five week-old db/db mice (C57BL/Ks,n=21) were divided into three groups and fed diets based on AIN-93G semipurified diet for 6 weeks after one week of adaptation period.The source of protein of the diet offered to the control,soybean,and black bean groups were casein and autoclaved and freeze-dried soybean and isoflavone-rieh black bean.respectively.
