Chinese universities and colleges have become active participants in theprocess of internationalization.This chapter focuses on the student experience in theprocess.It examines the experience of Chinese students studying abroad and theforeign and domestic students in Chinese universities.This research shows thatstudents face the challenges of both language and academic norms in the process ofinternalization.International students need to learn the domestic language and toadapt to the new teaching and learning approaches in the host countries.Comparedwith the domestic and foreign students studying in the Chinese campuses,theadjustment of the Chinese students abroad to the new academic environment seemsmore successful.The reasons why these students Can or cannot successfully adjust tothe new language and academic norms are also reflected at the end of the chapter.
