The purpose of this paper is to identify and introduce an outstanding approach to modelling modern agro business.This is achieved by review the literature related to information intensive organisations (ⅡO).Published papers in the leading journals and books are included in the review.The definition of ⅡO, features and various approaches are discussed in the paper.The review shows that organisational semiotics, which treats information as added value, is a sound and suitable approach to analyse ⅡO.The paper concludes with suggestions for future research in this field.
