铜鼓是中国南方与东南亚古代众多民族的文化瑰宝,已有两千七百余年的历史。铜鼓是权力与财富象征的重器,是沟通人神的祭器,类似于古代中原的铜鼎。铜鼓又是娱神娱人的乐器,还是指挥军阵的响器……可以说,铜鼓是名副其实的“大器”。20世纪后半叶,植根于农耕文化的铜鼓日渐式微。随着中国经济的日益繁荣,中华民族传统文化开始复兴,铜鼓文化保护、传承与发展的问题也提上议事日程。在此种背景下,该书的作者万辅彬以“铜鼓文化保护、传承与发展研究”为题,申请了国家社科基金项目,并获得立项。

Against this background, Wan Fu-bin, the author of this book, applied for the project of National Social Science Fund with the title of “Research on the Protection, Inheritance and Development of Tonggu Culture” and obtained the project.
