Transition-metal catalyzed reductive addition of aryl C-H bonds to alkynes belongs to one of the most challenging C-C bond forming reactions, as this approach provides an atom-and stepeconomic strategy for constructing various alkenyl aromatic compounds directly from inactivated simple arenes instead of the conventional arylhalides or arylmetallic reagents.
