Several studies demonstrated that vitamin D status was negatively correlated with acute kidney injury in critically ill patients.In the present study,we investigated the effects of oral supplementation with vitamin D3 (VitD3) on lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced acute kidney injury.All mice except controls were intraperitoneally injected with LPS (1.0 mg/kg).In VitD3+LPS group,mice were orally administered with VitD3 (25 μg/kg) at 1,24 and 48 h before LPS injection.
