Background Sevoflurane, one of the most commonly used inhalation anesthetics, induces apoptosis and oxidative stress upon lymphocytes;1 while propofol, an intravenous anesthetic, exhibits anti-apoptotic and anti-oxidative activities.2 Therefore, the present study aims to investigate whether propofol could attenuate sevoflurane-induced cellular injury in human peripheral lymphocytes.
