As a cathode material in lithium ion battery, vanadium pentoxide (V2O5) has the advantages of high capacities (294 mA h g-1), low cost and easy synthesis.However, its practical application has been hindered by its poor cycling stability and rate performance due to the kinetic limitation including the slow lithium ion diffusion and low electrical conductivity.Decreasing the size of V2O5 particles to nanoscale could be a strategy to deal with the kinetic problem, because the small size can shorten the diffusion length of Li+ and also increase the surface area.
