Spanish study with LIX973N extraction - stripping Cu reaction. The effects of equilibrium time, temperature, concentration of (NH 4) 2 CO 3, pH of aqueous solution, concentration of extractant and stripping solution, and reagent loading capacity were studied. The organic phase was found to absorb some of the NH_3, pH control, can be selectively stripping. The results show that LIX973N, an industrial extractant, can be used as a Cu extractant in NH_3- (NH_4) _2CO_3 media. Under the experimental conditions, the equilibrium pH, the concentration of (NH 4) 2 CO 3 and the temperature of the solution did not affect the Cu extraction rate. The degree of enrichment of Cu is limited by the concentration of extractant in the organic solution. For typical aqueous solutions
