格尔木是连接青、甘、新、藏四省区的重要通道和交通枢纽,是海西资源开发和工业发展的重点地区,也是支撑全州经济发展的重要增长。青藏铁路二期工程2001年开工,仅这一年我市经济增长31.2%,取得了自1990年以来最高的经济增长速度,使我市国民经济实现了持续、稳定、高速的发展态势,对全市经济总量跃上新台阶和各项事业的发展具有重大意义。但是随着青藏铁路西格段5-6月的停运将对格尔木市2006年目标的完成带来一定的影响。
Golmud is an important channel and transportation hub connecting the four provinces of Qinghai, Gansu, Xinjiang and Tibet. It is a key area for the development of Hercynian resources and industrial development and an important growth supporting the economic development of the whole state. The second phase of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway started in 2001. In the meantime, the city’s economy grew by 31.2% and achieved the highest economic growth rate since 1990, bringing about a sustained, stable and rapid development of the national economy in our city. The total economic output has risen to a new level and the development of various undertakings is of great significance. However, with the suspension of the Segment of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway from May to June, it will have an impact on the completion of the 2006 target of Golmud City.
