“俨然天上金星质,不似人间粉黛眉。”这是清人汪藩描绘歙砚纹饰特征的一句诗。自唐以来,历代文人墨客赞颂歙砚及其天然纹饰美的诗文不胜枚举,但从科学的角度来分析研究纹饰的人很少。这里,我们想采用地质学的原理,说明天然纹饰的成因同地质作用的关系。歙砚的天然纹饰,主要有金星、银星、金晕、金花、水浪纹、鱼子纹、刷丝纹、眉纹、玉带、紫云玉斑、枣心纹、青绿晕等。然而,从其地质成因上则可以将其复杂的纹饰归纳成四大类,即层理纹

The natural ornamentation of stupas is mainly composed of Venus, Silver Star, Golden Halo, Golden Flower, Water Wave Pattern, Caviar Pattern, Brush Silk Pattern, Eyebrow Pattern, Jade Belt, Ziyun Jade Spot, Jujube Heart Pattern and Cyanosis. However, from its geological causes, its complex ornamentation can be summarized into four categories, namely,
