Balanced cross-section forward modeling can quickly and effectively form the basin or local structure, and properly interpret the basin evolution history and local structure history. The tectonic subsidence numerical simulation of rifted basins can estimate the extensibility and magma intrusive volume of the upper lithosphere and the lower lithosphere. The extension rate can be used to calculate the history of pale-heat flux in rifted basins, which provides the basis for predicting the evolution of source rocks.
