The continuous development of wireless communication has provided an unprecedented impetus to the development of mixed-signal technology. The integration of digital and analog functions in a compact wireless platform is an inevitable requirement, whether it is a cell phone base station, a laptop computer, or a personal digital assistant (PDA). Given the high demand for mixed-signal devices such as RF and baseband codecs, leading semiconductor vendors are aggressively working to develop new devices for the rapidly evolving wireless market. In some cases, even enduring market strategies are undergoing radical changes. At the same time, the demand for increased integration and reduced power consumption in congested wireless platforms is also becoming more pressing, which sets ever-more stringent requirements for hybrid technologies.
