Therefore, I think that if China can make good use of the well-established system and think carefully about its development plans and projects, the future of Chinese cities will be promising. Mrs Lau has worked for the Hong Kong Housing and Development Board for 20 years and has been Chief Executive of Singapore's Urban Redevelopment Authority and Planning Authority of Singapore. In 1989, Dr. Liu became the chief executive and designer of the Planning Department of Singapore and was a leading advocate of “Concept of Singapore” and “Home Ownership Scheme”. Currently, Dr. Liu is Chairman of the Architectural Design Review Committee of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and an expert team leader at the Dujiangyan Conceptual Planning Seminar.
