Critically Examine Communicative Language Teaching Approach used in the English for Academic Purpose

English class has many kinds of teaching approach,such as the Traditional Translation Language Teaching Approach,Task-based Language Teaching Approach,Grammar Language Teaching Approach,Communicative Language Teaching Approach.This article takes the author’s personal experiences as example,to critically examine Communicative Language Teaching Approach which used in the English for Academic Purpose class at INTO Newcastle University in the UK,which involves the evaluation of syllabus design,the role of teachers and learners,the students’first language and the cultural element.It finds out that Communicative Language Teaching Approach has its authority on English teaching in the INTO,however,is has always neglect the context of language teaching.The article could gives references to other English teachers.
