In the summer of 1952, after the adjustment of higher education institutions across the country, the first national recruit was held. I was admitted to the music department of East China Art College (after transfer to Chinese). East China Art Institute is composed of the Shanghai United States, Suzhou, and the United States Department of Art, Shandong University merger from 1958, renamed the Nanjing Institute of the Arts. One afternoon after the autumn school year, Comrade Xia Yan was invited to a temporary school site of East China Art College (Wuxi Branch) and accompanied by Vice Chancellor and poet Zang Yunyuan (principally Liu Haisu), he stood on the platform and stood for the whole school.
