In order to make Dalton’s theory of atoms chemically very much needed, it must be acknowledged that the general principle of the gas reaction volume of Gay Lussack is more than that contained in the law. In other words, Dalton’s doctrine must use molecular theory. To be explained, the molecular theory admitted that there are particles (molecules) consisting of two or more atoms, and that the molecules can be decomposed into single atoms in a chemical reaction.
