四川省荣县酒厂,一九七八年从解决液体酒车间酿酒废糟液对环境的污染出发,兴建成一口2000立方米U型沼气池,利用废糟液制取沼气,日产沼气2000多立方米。厂里相继进行了利用沼气发电、开汽车的试验研究,在技术、经济和社会效益上,都得到显著的成效。该项成果,曾分别获得商业部和四川省重大科技成果奖励。但是,沼气中的二氯化碳含量高,甲烷(CH_4)含量低,分别为60%和40%;热质低,腐蚀性较大,对沼气的综合利用受到了一些限制。为了更好地发挥沼气的效益,开发沼气的综合利用,发展新产品,荣县酒厂和自贡市鸿化总厂合作,在国内首次进行催化热钾碱法低压脱除沼气中的二氧化碳工业性
