由现代音乐学和数学语境判断,朱载靖创建新法密率即等程律,不过是解一个等比数列的几个简单步骤.若从朱载靖时代的语境出发,这个过程并不简单.至少朱载靖要避免事先已“返宫”的责难,数学等式21/12 =21/2×2×3在当时也不是一个不证自明的公理,还要解决如何突破千余年黄钟9寸之说,等等.朱载堉借《周礼》之名,从几何学入手解决千年的音乐学难题,不能不说是绝顶聪明的做法.况且,他以解等比数列的所有方法尝试着建立新法密率,从而为当代音乐舞台的丰富多样性奠定了理论基础.
