The potential key role of galectin-3 in cancer cell survival

  Cancer metastasis is frequently a lethal factor of cancer patients[1].Numerous literatures have reported that millions of cancer cells escape from the primary lesion everyday in the tumor sufferer.However,most of these cells are going to die with only few surviving to form metastasis[2-4].We wonder what makes these few cells survive.So in the present study,we aim at seeking out the survival cells,investigating the differences between the primary cancer cells and survival cells and exploring the effective drugs that can prevent cancer metastasis according our findings.
