Toxicant-associated fatty liver disease (TAFLD) is a recently named form of liver injury pathologically similar to non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) which is highly associated with disruption of gut microbiota.2,3,7,8-tetrachlorodibenzofuran (TCDF),a potent aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AHR) ligand,is amongthe most environmentally toxic compounds and its impact on the gut microbiome and host metabolome relatively unknown.
