　　Hospital-acquired infections (HAI) are frequent causes of morbidity and mortality among hospitalized patients.Surgical site infection (SSI) is a type of HAI that arises following surgery and is specifically related to the surgical site.Patients who develop an SSI are more likely to have an extended hospital stay and require additional treatment.
