Objective:To investigate the impacts of amlodipine, valsartan and their combination on blood pressure variability and pulse wave velocity and to provide reference for clinical medication. Methods:We conducted a 10-week prospective, open, parallel control study.A total of 119 outpatients newly diagnosed essential hypertension or receiving mono-therapy were randomized into amlodipine 10 mg group (n=40), valsartan 160 mg group (n=38), or amiodipine 5 mg + valsartan 80 mg (n=41).Each patients relevant demographic data and laboratory indicators were collected before and 10 weeks after the treatment.24-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring and brachial ankle pulse wave velocity monitoring were also monitored at baseline and after treatment.Compare the effects on blood pressure and pulse wave velocity of different kinds of treatment by analyzing the data obtained.
