Low-dimensional nanomaterials always show distinctly different performances from their bulk materials mainly due to the strong coupling between their local fields and externally applied fields. Here we present our recent results on the mechanical-electronic-magnetic coupling properties of one-dimensional semiconductor nanowires and two-dimensional graphene,h-BN,transition metal diehaleogenides, black phosphorous and boron nanofilms.New advances in fabrication of two-dimensional materials and their one-and three-dimensional derivates by merging top-down and bottom-up methodology will also be introduced and their applications for sensors and generators will be demonstrated.
