The genus Dendrobium, is one of the largest group of the Orchidaceae family,comprises approximately 1500 species worldwide, and is widely distributed in the tropical and subtropical areas of Asia, Europe and Australia.Recently, Dendrobium plants are over-exploited for flower and medicine markets from the wild and listed under endangered taxa in the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) (Xiang, et al., 2011).
