Background: The stealth shielding effect of PEGylated nanocarriers is of great importance for their properties including biological targeting and drug activity.Besides its inhibitory action on the opsonization of serum proteins, the shielding effect of PEGylation nanoparticles (NPs) lies in the ability of suppressing the bending of membranes. Our current understanding of the stealth shielding effect of PEGylated nanocarriers is still incomplete. In this study, we analyzed the influences of chain length of polyethylene glycol (PEG) on the shielding effect of PEGylated nanoparticles.
