Liquid hydrocarbons generated from biomass pyrolysis oil(bio-oil)is essential to relieve the shortage of traditional transport fuels.By catalytic cracking using zeolite catalysts,oxygenated bio-oil can be converted into liquid hydrocarbons rich in aromatics.In view of the severe catalyst deactivation owing to the coke formation during cracking of crude bio-oil,separation pre-treatment through molecular distillation and introduction of co-reactant alcohols have been adopted to suppress coke formation.In our previous research on co-cracking of bio-oil distilled fraction and ethanol over HZSM-5,aromatic hydrocarbons were successfully produced,but a lot of C3-C4 gaseous hydrocarbons were also generated.Therefore,in this work,two kinds of model compound mixtures(MCM-1 and MCM-2)were used to simulate the bio-oil distilled fraction,and different metal oxides modified HZSM-5 catalysts were tested to screen the best one for aromatic hydrocarbon production from co-cracking of model compound mixtures and ethanol.
