Stroke is caused by the sudden onset of loss of neurological functions because of the blood flow to the brain has been cut off which leads to cerebral ischemia.Axonal damage, neuronal loss and regeneration failure may result in permanent deficits in visual, sensory, language and motor capabilities.Current therapies of stroke are inadequate including aspirin or heparin to reduce blood clots, or hemolytic such as TPA to dissolve clots. These at best will reduce damage, but not prevent it.Better drugs are desperately needed.
